[NSW] “Unity Starts with U n I” with Ramia Abdo Sultan + Volunteer Induction

2 NOV

Location: Berala Community Centre, 98-104 Woodburn Rd, Berala NSW 2141
Date: Sunday, 2nd November 2025 | Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

“Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way”, join us in this key workshop with Sr Ramia Abdo Sultan, experienced lawyer and advocate for our Muslim community, on what a Will is and why we need one.

Death and Wills are not a conversation that many of us want to have with our loved ones. However, it’s a very important one, especially in Islam.

Our blessed Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said to us: “It is the duty of a Muslim who has something which is to be given as a bequest not to have it for two nights without having his will written down regarding it.” (Muslim)

Assembling a Will not only helps you prepare yourself and your family for your departure. It also ensures your family and belongings will be taken care of, in accordance with Islamic guidelines.

Without an Islamic will, all your assets, savings, and possessions will be taken care of and distributed as per the domestic law system. That’s why it’s vital to write one before our time comes, so that our Wills are sound Islamically and domestically.

Hence, this workshop will teach you:

  • What is a Will, and why do we need one in general
  • The importance of having an Islamic Will
  • What can and cannot be covered in a Will?
  • Legal requirements of a Will in Australia
  • What happens if you die without a Will

Writing a Will is not just a financial and family decision. It is a deeply personal and spiritual duty for all Muslims. Take the time to learn how to prepare a Will in this workshop, which helps ensure your Will prevents disputes, benefits in the long run, and pleases Allah (SWT), insha’Allah.

Furthermore, we’ll also be welcoming new faces into our volunteer family through a special induction program. We look forward to seeing you at this workshop, where we can prepare for this life and the next through unity into action.
